The school is designed for master level students, PhD candidates and all professionals interested in the field of smarty energy systems and entrepreneurship. Seats are limited and participation confirmation is subject to the approval of the Summer School organizers in Karlsruhe.
The Smart Energy & Entrepreneurship Summer School will be conducted in English. The program includes lectures in plenum, presentations, debates, group works and hands-on activities. All participants are highly encouraged to have an active participation through debates and discussions with speakers and other participants during the sessions. Additionally, PhD students have the opportunity to present their work during scientific poster-sessions.
The school closes with a final pitch event, where you will present your project results and business models to a jury and receive feedback of experts and Venture Capitalists.
Participants will get a broad view of technical basics and will learn how to facilitate this knowledge to create innovations. After the participation you will know how to develop potential business ideas, based on technology and research findings and use the skills which are needed to start and run an own business sustainably.
The summer school will take place from July 27 - August 7, 2015 at HECTOR School of Engineering and Management, Hector Auditorium, Schlossplatz 19, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany.
Registration and fees
Participation is free for all participants and includes full board, all course materials and costs for excursions and social events during the weeks. The costs for your travel, lodging and costs which are not part of the program are not covered. Scholarships of the EIT ICT Labs are available for students coming from the so called outreach countries (check list of countries below). If you come from one of these countries, travel and lodging (in a shared room) may be paid. If you want to apply for this scholarship, please contact the summer school organizers.

"Entrepreneurship for Researchers" is designed for all researchers (scientists, PhD candidates), predominantly of engineering and natural sciences, from the KIT and external institutes. The program is limited to 25 participants who will be elected after application.
